Protologism (2022)

This duet, choreographed by Charlie Maybee in collaboration with V Cangelosi, explores the linguistic and conversational infrastructures embedded in tap dance technique while pushing the genre into digital soundscapes using a specially rigged contact microphone. Using a fictional setting/prompt of a post-speech or post-text world, this duet experiments with a digital dialect of tap dance as an alternative form of physio-musical communication.
