The Promise of Stormy Weather (2019)

Created in 2019 as Charlie Maybee’s MFA Thesis Project, The Promise of Stormy Weather is an interdisciplinary performance that explores tap dance as a method of speculative storytelling through the co-creation of tap dancing alter-egos with the cast. Set in a post-language world where a neuro-somatic infection makes verbal and textual communication result in rapid bodily decay, tap dancers experiment with their percussive expression to develop new ways to commune and navigate in the name of survival.
